Such a breath of fresh air working in Fort Canning Park. Accepted the project at Amoy Street thinking it'd be somewhere with concrete buildings and artificial greenery. Did not relish the steep ascent up the slope to the Fort Canning Centre, but along the way the overture of lush green with the sweet smell of the morning mixed with the rthymic chirping of the birds and cicadas made the journey worth it. "上山拜师" kind of feeling as once again the protagonist feels humbled by the overwhelming presence of Mother Nature.
Then midway through the diagnostic role i was playing, the unmistakable rap of the snare drum sliced through the serenity and before i knew it, Concave Scream launched into a rehearsal of songs from their new album. I was pleasantly surprised. Whatever happened to the sanctuary? The lucky bastards at this company, they probably get the best seats in the house, listening to free previews of events held in Fort Canning Green even on weekdays. The rush from breathing in the fresh dewy moisture coupled with the sights and sounds of bassy beats from the Pop Agenda rehearsal sure made my day today!
Had lunch with 好姐妹 Caryn at SMU's Kopitiam (last paper before going to help me get Michael Learns to Rock autographs girl, ganbatte!) Inadvertently i learnt about the many foreign sounding road names around the campus as well. Victoria St, Armenian St, Stamford Rd just to name a few!
You promised to call but you didn't, is something wrong? The lump in the throat cannot be dissipated once the mind wanders. Instead, someone who is not welcomed called. And i didn't answer. The little ironies in life.
JS team meet up! Chill out over some iced mocha or something. And we shall talk about being Marxist, breeding sea-monkeys or haha crabs, or how peace should be perpetuated by adopting a simple line of apparel ala Gandhi.
Useless fact of the day: Specialising is good, as computer technicians get more money to sit around and slack while admin people have to gun for the best actor / actress award by acting busy, flipping the laptop monitor to a tactical angle so no one sees the MSN or minesweeper running in the bottom right corner; pretending to lose their tantrum and making a drama for being maligned of something he/she didn't do/say.

The number of the beast
Oh wow after the 4th of May 2006, there's the 6th of June 2006, and according to mum, there ARE people who want to give birth on this day. Maybe they are not superstitious, giving birth on this day under the impression that "it's easy to remember".
The Number of The Beast by Iron Maiden, that's what today is!

Changes
Happen all the time. Grandpa is 84 this year, 2 of my cousins are no longer in HK but in the UK, my elder cousin is getting married in October and another cousin is on his way to Germany to catch the world cup after winning some competition.
And help, Dr Sloth has got me, i don't know why even that 老街场 (a market in Malaysia according to my dad) coffee isn't doing any good other than giving me a migraine. I'm supposed to go for a run later, and here i am still stuck at making an HTML email to send prospective students to join the camp starting 24th July. Yeash KTV! No i'm still stuck here!
Useless fact of the day: Actually this is rather useful! From Rich Dad's cashflow quadrant i've learnt that there are 7 levels of investors of which all of us must fit into one. Or a little of everything at once. And to differentiate facts from opinion which i've conveniently applied to what he's written as well, to take caution when heeding the advice he prescribes as one pursues the pot of gold found at the "right" side of the cashflow quadrant meaning business owners and investors. Apparently family background was left out when encouraging people to take those bold steps. But the part about changing one's mindset first before doing anything was good a mind f*ck, as many would put it.
