Cock UP!

Now i know why my friends complained and were so sarcastic about the NUS admin. Being a victim of it myself, i understand now that no matter how world class ratings are, they are just meeting the criteria on the areas that they were being judged on.

How can it be that my friend has received word on the positive status of his Student Leadership Conference trip to HK while i didn't? Turned out both of us were selected after all. But now the class chalet for JC has been booked for the weekend i thought i'd been freed up because there was no word about the application even after i emailed the staff in charge.

Now i'm called on a friday morning and told that i WAS selected after all and "she didn't know how come i didn't receive word of it".

*weak smile*

I' ve been schnooked!

There's always next year, the chalet cannot be cancelled already. Optimistic libra, maximise!

So what, you think the world cup is big?

Don't you guys want to make it as well? Or do you intend to freeload? Do you think i'll never run out of energy? True that i am quite a bundle of fuel, but does that mean you put in the minimal effort?

Why does it feel like there's no passion at all about the friendship outside of jamming? How can the group progress a step further without bonding and knowing each other on a personal level?

We might as well be kopitiam buddies! And meet once a fortnight to discuss inconsequential things like the in-laws and the latest porn flick we caught online.

Useless fact of the day: Indie music is the short form for independent music, produced at a tight budget unlike the traditional way of splurging millions of dollars from the CD cover to the marketing strategy, and made at home studios instead of recording studios with the works. Indie music is at the core post-punk guitar pop and has come to replace "alternative" as the new genre that truly is alternative for its time.

See, even when i go to the Esplanade library, i read up on music as a career. Why am i destined to belong to the employee and self-employed quadrants, lamenting that "good help is hard to find?"

Am i missing out on something regarding effective people management? Gotta find a way out of this.

Pun(D)it

The nose knows
What the iced have eyes
Can hear but aren't here.
Wounds you can mend but not hatred
Wound around one manned
By a virtual virtue: smell vengeance.

The seas cease
Where the wall's low and
The swallow meets its end.
Rounds penetrate the parts
Round the heart.
Fired, justified just by jealousy.

The rigged rig,
While machines mar shins,
The worker worked the work;
Die-cast metal dig into flesh - they
Die in a flash!
Been crushed by the capitalist cunt.

Maybe i'm just depressed.

Oh.

Look of dismay as my birthday this year will fall on a Friday again.

And i stumbled upon this while checking out the module preference exercise for Semester 1 2006/2007. Browsing through the film and history module, excited that shows like Pulp Fiction, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and X-Men will be screened.

Wonder if the practical criticism skills acquired from A Level's Literature will aid in the ambitious dream to get on the Dean's List?

Baked Alaska!

Some appreciation for his first try at uploading videos can?

Stuck Up Singaporeans

Module preference exercise: indicates the starting of a new term come August, another chance to hit the Dean's List. Not that tough now that I know it's individual semester's effort. I mean if a stuck up bitch can do it, so can I! *names have been withheld to protect the sanity of this world, cause hate breeds more hate*

Had a great cozy evening with Caryn, Kenn (my math tutor back in JC) and baby dining at the Shaslik Restaurant, eating stuff that i can't even pronounce. And to think that i've been there once upon a time entertaining dad's friends there. Wonder how i could stand the stuck up staff there. Borsch soup is minestron with beef. Baby had Fish en Papillote which is fish wrapped in paper, 纸包鱼. Kenn & I had Shaslik Chicken which is chicken kebab. Caryn had Chicken a la King which is chicken that thinks it's the king (i hope for everyone's sake that they don't re-use the crown on the fried headless chicken's neck). Then the dessert was fantastic, Baked Alaska which i will attach the video shortly.

Swee Lee sale yesterday, followed by a short jam session on the roof of Bras Basah Complex. Stuck up salespeople there who won't let us sit down to try the guitars. Even though there was space and a stool available. Quality service indeed. Anyway I queued up a total of 4 hours for my life yesterday for this event just to buy patch cables for my effects. The jam session after that justified the day well spent. Malkee is right, maybe it's good to play with other musicians as well sometimes to discover more about yourself. All about globalisation i bet.
