What It's Like

Dear blog, i think coming of age does bring with it certain wisdom. I used to jump on the shortest queue i see at the bus terminal, since i can take both buses, only 1's a feeder. Now i analyse the situation properly before making a move. Cos usually people who take non-feeders don take feeders. But almost all feeders take non-feeders. This way i realised my mistake and exited the shorter queue, and joined a longer one. This does give me the feeling that the best in life is worth waiting for. Specially when the longer queue got to board the bus first. Even though i don't have a religion (and sociology kinda painted a tainted picture of it to me), there does seem to be an unknown force running our lives for us, unlocking certain parts of us we didn't know had existed until the time is ripe. And i'm gonna find out what is its potential. i also feel for the 2 bloggers who were guinea pigs for the law of sedition. Somehow there is a slight resonance in my sentiments but i am not about to join them: "NOoOOO!" ala Russell Peters.

In the first 21 yrs of my life, some things i learnt:

1. If it's white, don't make it black. if it's black don't make it white. It's tiring and doesn't work sometimes. Must adopt the safe stand - in the grey area - more.

2. I should learn to shut up more & listen. If i'm doin enough listening, den i sure aint thinking enough to process all the information gathered into something useful.

3. That not all things have to be done ourselves. Only those which we want to be done to perfection. If not, give others a go.

4. Money doesn't grow on trees and if it did then we'll have a lot more gardening society organizations "volunteering" to sweep the fallen leaves. i am THat much closer to independence from parental aid (good and bad).

5. Be thankful and remember people who have been nice to me. Reciprocate their kindness as soon as i am able to, or else owing favours will not be wise. Be thankful for having such great parents and a brother and a girlfriend and relatives who are so closely knitted together it hurts being away from them. Thankful for still being able to see my grandparents' faces on MSN webcam and hearing their voices on Skype every now and then, transcending the geographical barriers and the traditional barrier of communicating only via costly trunk calls. Thankful for being alive, with slightly impaired vision and scarred for life, but very much alive. Thankful for being able to live comfortably under a roof without worrying about bombings and looting and hurricanes.

Still on track to getting a driving license by end of the year, with occasional difficulties faced in the circuit doing an "S" course and hitting the kerb.

Somehow the high has come and gone last Saturday. Those who turned up, you're beautiful. Now it's reduced to lukewarm excitement upon officially turning 21. To me, I turned 21 some time earlier. But there's just this R(A) trailer which i stumbled upon just now and it's starting to get me curious... *snigger*

Really quite sick, the way projects overlap and intertwine and undermine our sleep till we're cross-eyed from the fusillade of work. This Friday. After this Friday I deserve a good break. Chill out with some good music, a swim, a jog, some time well spent with baby.

Cheers.
