On my way to bed, but this caught my attention! A torrent tracking site.
V For Vendetta (2006) TS HooKah KVCD...609.67MB 1138 1791
where 1138 is seeds, and 1791 is the downloaders
Piracy is still rampant, intellectual property remains unrespected. Feel sad for the producers of it. They are entitled to the amount of revenue, who are we to judge that they're earning "a lot of money from the sales all along". What about paying $200 for an SKII mask when the production cost is at least 40% lower (retail jackup)? It's just that the SKII is tangible and imitators can be brought to court easily. Theories of CNM: "once a media product is sold, the industry cannot control it", in this case proliferation of downloadable copies of movies that is just released the likes of V for Vendetta, Brokeback Mountain etc.
How to curb a problem like this? When everybody else thinks everyone else is doing it and it's ok to do so, in unity there's strength and "there's no way they can catch us all". One day we may produce intellectual property (hereafter known as IP) that we need to protect to reach that stream of passive income. So that we don't slog our a$$ off for someone perched up on the hierarchy for life.
If students commit IP infringement most often, and they are not able to afford any fines, the parents would be the victims of it. To leave the media comanies to their own devices is not wise either, as Sony took matters into its own hands by using the rootkit code that exposes users' computers to malware.
Something to argue about. VVat vexing ambiValence!

Wouldn't it be nice...
To tour in a bus with an optional entourage, one person to 2 seats, playing a guitar or thinking about music. Just me and music. An acoustic guitar. Hollow body. Sunburst. And the guys. Look out the window one minute and see trees. And people in the distance the next. See blue skies till the midnight orange.

Feeling rabid, foaming at the mouth but muzzled by a metaphorical hand preventing
the animal within from expressing itself

The adage we never seem to tire of repeating:
"If you can't convince them... confuse them"
Tried. Tested. Proven. Again, and again, and again.... and again.
Reaction Paper 4 for public relations module. The least time taken, the least amount of understanding, the highest scoring reaction paper. I really don't understand this education system. Nope. But the Body Shop story is inspiring amidst the corporate world of profit-motivated mercenaries who care for nothing but the moolah.
With regards to the network effect, can we say that movie-goers are subject to it, the reviews are saying it's good, people think it's good, and assume that everyone else is watching it and so they watch it and it causes the producers to make more of such movies cos there's so many suckers for it? Highly possible (don't steal my idea, copyrighted, chope =Þ)
Useless fact of the day: (other than the above-mentioned) Mac's with the Intel chips are now able to run windows! So you have the white laptop with the apple logo and funny one button mouse and keyboard. But the O/S remains the same. The point being?

To die for...
Just being an entrepreneur, or even a venture capitalist. Just once. And feel the power surging through the veins when you utter "you're fired".
Absolutely to die for!
What Technoprenership module does for you, livens up your imagination.
Ties in with personal philosophy actually, that there's no eternal friends nor eternal enemies, so in the world of business you can't always lose. Conversely you can't always win either. I'd rather be playing my guitar.

TR2202 Crazed
Spent the whole of today musing over TR2202 project, the only one where little headway has been made. Now watching startup.com, as part of the case study for the second last session tomorrow. S Curve, dominant designs, evolving emerging technology.
Reminds me of other documentaries i wanna watch: Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 911, March of the Penguins, that other 911 terrorist video on google video.
startup.com traces the story behind an internet company govworks.com from cradle to its cyber grave among other e-commerce sites during 2000-01. I strive to watch it properly after the exams. it's now being put on fast forward.
useless fact of the day: this is really useless. 陶喆, David Tao's not Singaporean *gasp* i always thought he was. after debating with my brother we decided to research on him. after extensive online raking of data on CD players.

I like this one, it's all pictures no text
The Picto-Personality Test![]() When alone, you appreciate being able to do nothing if you want to, and setting your own pace for things. You are adventurous, always up to do the most extreme things. You have a certain recklessness that makes people very attracted to you. In the future you will have a good family life and lots of friends. |
| Take this Test at QuizGalaxy.com |
I'm not VERY ambitious, depends on where it's applied to. The part about doing nothing when alone applies to ppl who've been overworked in this capitalist society doesn't it? Not very helpful. Extreme? Hmm not really, though the last "extreme" thing i did was to cycle in the midst of heavy rain and lightning flashing in the not-so-distance, few days back. Or if you may, does adventurous include dancing to techno beats 2 weeks ago to end off a presentation? *chuckles nick, nick, alex, feli and noly*

Post Mortem
Finally, Friday's presentation is over. 1 more report and 1 project (untouched) left. The good thing is, the presentation wasn't that bad. The bad thing is, it wasn't that good.
Useless fact of the day:Our eyeballs are the only part of us that remain the same size since birth. Hence it's mostly correct to compliment someone's baby to "have his/her mother's eyes" but not so much of the nose and mouth? oops
Truckload of concern going out to DF (sec sch friend) whose eye got poked during a basketball game yesterday. i'd know how THAT would feel like! Somehow i think i've been left out because i've been late in the recent games. bad habits.
Maybe for some people, their brain remains the same size since birth =X
