Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Grateful to my dad for having taught me the "print selection" function, that has made printing of webpages so much more enjoyable - you choose what gets printed (the text at least) and cut out the annoying advertisements.

Either he's not that old, or he ain't a dog!

We all learn from one another, you always thought you knew everything? Bam you're hit with something you don't already know. Why? Because it's the age of information!

I wonder how much Windows Vista is going to require re-learning and un-learning. The shift from win 98 to win XP sure was appalling. The appreciated bit is that I can put those DOS commands aside. Until another computer out there still using Windows 98 needs me of course.

"Singaporeans are sought after by overseas employers"...

... because they are known to be honest and capable.

Full article here, taken off Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's National Day Rally speech 2006 at the University Cultural Centre in NUS.

Not to mention sedate, hardworking (to make their bosses rich), dull, materialistic.

Not exactly my idea of desirable descriptions to be a smart person in the workforce, honest and capable.

But yet, somehow I do get that feeling when I talked to other people during my overseas trip with SLC 2006. Maybe National Service has made the guys obedient and they somehow affect the females as well.

Not desirable, but at least we're not just known as the country that bans chewing gum and canes people's backsides for commiting crimes!

"Wong Kan Seng is going to be in China and we will be launching it (Overseas Singaporean Unit) in Shanghai, where I think there're 7,000 overseas Singaporeans."

I think I'll be part of that population next August? I feel like I'm doing the right thing, and I made the choice before he said it =p This is in response to him encouraging Singaporeans to go overseas to gain experience.
