Protect Against the Loss of Solidarity!

Ah boy ah, you've been ignorant for so many years of your life, dsepite being aware that knowledge of current affairs is the social glue that pastes strangers and friends together. Kind of anyway, the scary thought of homogenized agendas getting in the way.

But yes, I shall resolve to watch half an hour of news everyday on Channel U, over supper!

Useless fact of the day: Singapore Zoological Gardens has decided to implement challenges for its inhabitants to overcome before they can get their food. So what, now even animals in captivity are subjected to Primal Instinct Behaviour 101?! In an attempt to change the current mindset of animals to wait for food to drop onto their laps, the zoo has simulated ways in which the animals must seek their food by going through what they have to in the wild. Elephants, for example, have to rake through fallen tree trunks to get their food. Novel thought, must be a response to many people's complaints that the animals do nothing but sleep all day.

"What?! Find our own food? But that's why I checked into the Singapore Zoological Hotels in the first place - the open zoo concept, sleep all day and splash water at my instructor. Dean! We need to talk!"

Masochism

Your cold cold heart, anything but warm,
Harbouring your hatred in a farm.
My blood in its veins freeze fast
As the arctic winds whoosh past.

You believe that rewards are handsome
As we win some and we will lose some.
Nothing brings you more pleasure than
To thump the stake right through my hand.

You're beyond redemption for
Death is just a metaphor,
You who walk amongst the living:
Yet your heart has long ceased pumping.

You'd bleed your blood for days on end
You dig your wounds, depressed; deepened.
The unseen chain around my neck
Clangs, clings yet tighter till I crack.

Starlet

Leave me starstruck on a lonely Friday night,
The moon shines and streetlamps aren't so bright.
We can count the stars littering the city
Where we'll sit by the sea.

Make me dizzy with your dazzling fireworks!
Let fly a sprinkle of sparks that work
Their way into the mind body soul
And never leave us cold.

Drive me crazy with your demands;
Sooth me into submission with no sound.
Melt me when I look into your eyes
Like fruit drops from Grave of the Fireflies.

Wake me up when I fall into slumber
In your arms, usually unencumbered.
Take me away to your fairyland;
Lead me, not by the nose but by the hand.
