So why does hotmail convert picture attachments into bitmap format? Does it make them feel better making the files much bigger, like a 500KB file being blown to a 12MB file? The only way I know to counter this effect is to download the attachment using Outlook Express. Somebody say "spoiler!"

Seems the internet connection at my house is so bad, it needs to see the doctor once every 3 years or so. After suffering in silence and complaining to Pacnet a million times, we got a line check. It was supposed to be such that if you requested for one and they find nothing wrong after sending a technician down, you pay. Which is one huge deterring factor since there could be other things that are spoilt at home. Like the microfilter, the ADSL modem, the PCI LAN card inside the PC, the wireless router, the telephone wire, the fact that there are 3 phones and an ADSL modem connected to one wall socket. A problem with the distribution point, they say. And now, the next scheduled checkup - 23/4/2008. We rest for now, we rest. Starhub can wait.
