Rats In Business Suits

The lift ride is so long I can finish pages of advanced theory questions before reaching the 57th floor of the OUB building. And I can scarce believe that I am actually working for a living. R.I.B.S - Rats In Business Suits. In the midst of thinking of band names I have come to notice this in the (rats) people leaving the (pigeon holes) buildings where they are busy (cooped up) working the whole morning: some have the glint in their eyes thinking of the (cheese) things they can buy with the money they’ve made while spinning that financial wheel inside their office. Just enough to pay for that bit of grated mozzarella. Some one out there is holding on to the big cheese, and letting it feed his minions little by little.

With that bit of philosophical bull out of my mind, this is what I’ve been doing for my post ORD week, BEFORE I landed myself into the clutches of employment (gags):

1. Jammed with Rick and Malcolm for the very first time at Wee Lee @ Aljunied, after having played with Mal at his house prior to my ORD but not going far because of the lack of members

2. Taken (and passed) basic theory. On track to getting license before the year’s up

3. Managed to get 6h of sleep most the time

4. Went running during weekends for the IPPT Silver

The world outside is so much bigger, more exciting, bringing with it a pervasive sense of danger, lurking around every corner if you’re not careful. I thank my lucky stars, and my baby for whooping my ass silly for the times I’d lost the heart to carry on as a soldier.

The world outside has great food, but with that comes a heftier price tag as well. Ditto for the haircuts. Did I mention the free retail therapy my bro Yiwei we had spent all our credits as soldiers, practically buying the entire E-Mart1.

My first OT in GMP, Raffles Place. Just got screwed by my boss, in a way that we are dressing up to get a dressing down. Data entry is down in my list of ideal jobs. Maybe those that are text related. Not figures!!
